Architecture is the art and science of spatial configuration. Spatial computing, as it grows, needs coherent spatial environments as much, or more, than the physical realm - so that the role and reach of architecture is greatly expanded.

Treasury is founded by architects - John Manoochehri, Zaha Hadid Architects, and the team behind SpaceForm (BIG, UN Studio, Heatherwick Studio) - with a mission to put world class architectural design, and designers, at the centre of the spatial computing revolution. Quality spatial design should support, and define, demand for spatial assets for use in digital events, filmmaking, games, metaverse, physical and mental health, productivity and more.

This opportunity is not about redirecting design efforts away from the real world. It's about building a bridge of competence and creativity from the physical to the digital and the imaginary – and bringing back new skills, creations, and value to the real world. It's clear that no profession is better positioned to define the spatial computing revolution than architecture

Treasury enables architecture studios and independent creators to benefit from the spatial computing evolution primarily through:

  • Protecting designs from unlicensed use

  • Generating revenue from licensed use of existing spatial assets

  • Facilitating new clients and use cases for digital and hybrid spatial design

Treasury tools and services support architects with:

  • Archiving and Fingerprinting It's time for accessible 3D archiving of digital assets – making sure they are available for review, further use, and fingerprinted against misuse. The Treasury Registry and Discovery Engine help with this.

  • Contracting Current practice in architectural contracting doesn't prioritize the retention of digital rights for architects. Treasury's Creator Contract and Registry are designed to ensure that architects' work is support by the most flexible and convenient rights and royalties model available – based on best practice in other licensing regimes including music and film.

  • Community Building Digital environments, and beloved physical places, have active communities of support. The Treasury Curate tool, Treasury Index, and the Activator program help with this.

  • Hybrid Workflows The future of built design is one where every built project will have some digital representation as a final output – in addition to any finished construction. Treasury helps offices evolve their workflows so that more outputs come from the same initial design work.

  • Support Services Treasury Studio is a support community for the Treasury ecosystem consisting of selected third-party service providers along the asset development pipeline - asset finishing and formatting, conversion, creative and operational project management, legal advisory, AI advisory and more.

To use Treasury tools, the first step is to archive your spatial assets in the Treasury Registry. This will help review and sort them, assess their value, and protect them against piracy. The primary goal is to have a model, with ever-increasing dimensional and resolution quality, of every building you own – available either for archive, managed, private review, or licensed third-party use.

Spatial assets can be added to Treasury Registry in a 2D format for the purpose of pre-listing: offering design work for requests and commissions by digital environment builders before a suitable 3D model, or even before complete rights allocation, have been developed.
