Crafting Safe 3D Environments for Health Applications

With the rise of spatial computing, emerging is a focus is on designing immersive digital spaces to support mental health .

This event is the first within the Treasury Science Sessions series – open seminars dedicated to fostering comprehension and involvement in spatial technology's applications for health, education, and social betterment.

This session will focus on two critical elements: the need to ensure the fidelity of user experiences and the creation of an environment that fosters an immersive sense of presence –while maintaining the structural components necessary to support mental health outcomes.

Designing digital environments for healthcare applications introduces an added layer of complexity. When users take on the role of patients, they often find themselves in a state of heightened vulnerability, both mentally and physically. Furthermore, the healthcare sector is laden with an array of rules and regulations that demand careful navigation.

As designers, we are challenged to strike a delicate balance, harmonizing creativity, effectiveness, and safety in our creations. Our aim is to explore the the design decisions behind these elements and uncover innovative solutions that can revolutionize mental healthcare in the virtual realm.

We welcome everyone interested in mental and physical health, technology, design, spatial computing, metaverse development, and virtual reality to join the conversation.
