Treasury Session

In the professions responsible for designing digital spatial content - buildings, environments, immersive experiences - there are two conventional approaches. Modelling everything as discrete objects, which is the architectural approach; and modelling everything as merely a surface, with a convincing texture (ie image mapped to the surface) to give the illusion of a fully-modelled object.
Currently new techniques are maturing, offering new ways to developed modelled environments - including photogrammetry, NeRFS, Gaussian Splatting and more, including many AI techniques.
How do all these modelling techniques converge? What are the skills that they converge on? Who will lead the development of digital assets creatively, commercially and technically? Is architectural design the natural centre of this evolution? Or merely an outrider? What happens to the existing workflows, toolsets and talentsets inside and architecture and other industries?
This event, led the world leaders in architectural technology and design - and other primary spatial computation fields - will investigate groundbreaking fusion of architectural design, computer graphics, and game technology – reshaping how we perceive and create spatial environments.
This conversation is the third in a thematic mini-series in the Treasury Sessions series, featuring world leaders in architectural design and digital design practice, exploring the creative, technical, social and psychological dimensions of architectural practice and this epochal moment in the evolution of spatial design practices, and offering pathways forward for practitioners and theorists.
Everyone working in or studying architecture, urban design, product and other design disciplines, spatial computing, metaverse development, game, art, and technology in general, is welcome to join in, learn, and participate.
These events are over-subscribed, so please register early.

Speakers
Shajay Bhooshan
Associate Director and Head of Computation and Design, Zaha Hadid Architects
An expert in computation and co-founder of CODE, ZHA's computational design group. CODE is one of the pre-eminent architectural technology teams in the world and under Bhooshan's guidance has contributed to computational platforms and architectural applications at ZHA.
Nils Fischer
Director, Zaha Hadid Architects
Nils Fischer, a Director at Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), is a pioneering architect with a diverse career spanning cultural landmarks, high-rise buildings, and computational design. He holds the world construction speed record for high-rises, notably achieved with the Nanjing International Youth Cultural Centre in China. As the founder of ZHA's computational design research group (CODE) and a leader in Cluster 1, the firm's largest business unit focusing on cultural, infrastructure, and transportation projects, Nils Fischer continues to shape the architectural landscape through innovation.
John Manoochehri
CEO & Founder, Treasury
John Manoochehri is an architect and environmental scientist, with a specialization in computational design. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oxford, a diploma in architecture from the Royal College of Art in Stockholm, and has taught architecture, urban design planning studios and courses at the Royal Institute of Technology Architecture School in Stockholm. He previously founded an architectural design technology company, Last Meter®, focussing on designing and adapting modern residences and commercial buildings to integrate third-party services, and founded a podcast on spatial technology, Futureperfect, sponsored by Epic Games.
